Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What is transdisciplinary research?
Transdisciplinary research involves scientists from diverse fields coming together to integrate knowledge across disciplines. Integrating, or blending, knowledge from different disciplines sets the stage for finding new ways to study complex topics such as obesity and cancer.

What is energetics?
Energetics is the study of energy in living systems. This energy can be in the form of working energy or stored energy. In people, for example, energy from food is used as working energy to fuel the body’s biological processes and movement. Food energy takes the form of stored energy (mostly as body fat) when a person eats more food energy than the body needs.
